Report: 10 Years of Obstetric Fistula Care in Mali
Obstetric fistula is a devastating, disabling condition that affects women and often isolates them from society. It is typically caused by complications of prolonged, obstructed childbirth, and the World Health Organization estimates over 2 million women worldwide live with this condition.
In Mali, obstetric fistula is a true public health problem, with an estimated 2,000 women at risk of developing fistula each year. The Government of Mali has made significant progress toward ending this issue, with support from organizations like IntraHealth International. This report explores Mali as a case study in its approach to ending obstetric fistula.
I designed the report in English and French. Read the full report here.
